Dumka: Jamtara district police have detained a juvenile in connection with a series of robbery and theft cases reported across the district as well as in West Bengal, police said.
Details of the Detention
SP Shambhu Kumar Singh stated, “A team detained the accused and seized a country-made 7.65 mm pistol along with a live cartridge during a search operation.”
The juvenile was involved in a recent robbery near the cemetery at Dhekipara under the Mihijam police station area, where railway employee Irfan Ansari was allegedly threatened with a knife and robbed. He was also found involved in a snatching incident in the Fatehpur area under Chittaranjan police station in West Bengal.
Previous Criminal Record
The juvenile was detained in a March 2025 firing incident. He was released on bail but returned to criminal activities, the SP said. Police also recovered two mobile phones, a bike, a damaged bag, and a knife from him.
