Jatra Party Manager Arrested for Gang-Rape of Aspiring Actress

Kendrapada police on Saturday arrested two persons, including the manager of a jatra party, on charges of gang-raping an aspiring jatra party actress in Kendrapada district. The arrested individuals were identified as manager Bulu Panda and another person, Jyoti Panda.

Incident Details

The 25-year-old woman filed a First Information Report (FIR) at Pattamundai police station on May 26. She alleged that both accused took her to a hotel in Kendrapada town, where they spiked her cold drinks, causing her to lose consciousness. Taking advantage of the situation, they gang-raped her and videographed her in the nude. They also threatened to kill her if she disclosed the incident to anyone.

Police Action

Acting on the complaint, police launched an investigation and arrested both accused on Saturday, said Inspector-in-Charge of Pattamundai police station, Bandana Patra.
