Post-Mortem Reveals Gunshot Wounds in Jhajjar Double Murder
Two business partners from Uttar Pradesh, whose bodies were discovered along the Jhajjar-Gurugram road, were killed by gunshots, according to the post-mortem examination conducted on Tuesday. The autopsy found two bullet injuries on one victim and one bullet injury on the other, sources confirmed.
Victims Identified as Kamil and Irshad from Muzaffarnagar
The deceased were identified as Kamil (52) and Irshad (40), both residents of the same village in Muzaffarnagar district, Uttar Pradesh. Their bodies were found lying in a pool of blood on the roadside, prompting a murder investigation.
Police Suspect Murder Elsewhere and Dumping of Bodies
Paramjeet, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Sadar police station, stated that the bodies were handed over to the families after the post-mortem. Preliminary investigation suggests the victims may have been killed at a different location and their bodies dumped at the scene to mislead investigators. Their mobile phones were also missing from the crime scene.
Oil Can Found at Scene Suggests Attempted Arson
Police recovered an empty oil can from the crime scene, leading investigators to believe that the assailants had planned to set the bodies on fire to destroy evidence but failed to execute the plan. With no CCTV cameras installed near the exact spot, authorities are scanning footage from surveillance cameras along adjoining stretches of the road to trace the suspects' movements.
Police Probe Call Records and Form Multiple Teams
The SHO added that family members of the deceased did not suspect anyone in particular. Call records of the victims have been sought, and multiple police teams are working on the case to apprehend the guilty parties.
