In a significant administrative overhaul, the Jharkhand government on Wednesday transferred as many as 201 sub divisional police officers (SDPO) and deputy superintendents of police (DSP) across the state. The Ranchi police district witnessed major changes with six new DSPs being reassigned.
Details of the Reshuffle
The home, prison, and disaster management department issued a notification detailing the transfers. Among the key changes, SDPO Garwah Neeraj Kumar has been transferred as DSP Hatia. DSP Jharkhand Jaguar Deepak Kumar moves to DSP Bedo, while DSP Jharkhand Armed Police Manish Chandra Lal becomes DSP Silli. Newly promoted Alok Kumar Singh has been posted as Dy SP CCR. DSP trainee Ramakant Rajak takes over as DSP Traffic 2, and DSP trainee Taras Soren also assumes the role of DSP Traffic 2 in Ranchi district.
Postings in Specialized Units
At least five newly promoted DSPs have been assigned to the criminal investigation department (CID), and ten others have been posted to the anti-corruption bureau (ACB). These postings aim to strengthen investigative and anti-corruption efforts in the state.
The home department clarified that DSPs who have been relieved from their current positions without receiving a new posting are required to report to the police headquarters until further orders. This measure ensures continuity in administrative functions while the reshuffle is implemented.
The large-scale transfer is seen as part of the state government's strategy to enhance police efficiency and address administrative requirements across districts. Further details on the postings are expected to be released in subsequent notifications.
