Jhunjhunu Police Nab Three Accused in Fatal Shooting Case
In a significant breakthrough, the Jhunjhunu police on Tuesday apprehended three individuals, including the primary suspect, in connection with the murder of a man who was shot dead on April 3. The incident occurred in Ishakpura village, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Singhana police station in Jhunjhunu district.
Technical Evidence and CCTV Footage Lead to Arrests
Superintendent of Police Kavendra Singh Sagar disclosed that the accused were identified and located through a combination of technical evidence and meticulous analysis of CCTV footage. The arrests were made from the hills of Bhaisawata Kalan, following an intensive investigation.
The victim has been identified as Mukesh, also known as Tinku. The arrested men are Vijay alias Mintu from Ishakpura, Somveer from Bhodan, and Ajit from Nanuwali Bawdi.
Long-Standing Dispute Escalates on Social Media
According to police investigations, Mukesh and the main accused, Vijay, had been embroiled in a bitter feud for nearly a year. The two parties had previously engaged in physical altercations, indicating a history of conflict.
The dispute reportedly intensified recently due to objectionable remarks exchanged on social media platforms, particularly through Instagram Reels. This online provocation is believed to have fueled the animosity, leading to the fatal confrontation.
Habitual Offender and Conspiracy Uncovered
Police revealed that Vijay is a habitual offender, with seven criminal cases already registered against him. He had been released from jail approximately 20 days prior to the murder. Investigators suspect that upon his release, Vijay conspired with his associates to carry out the killing of Mukesh.
Details of the Murder Incident
On the day of the incident, Mukesh had traveled to Ishakpura to meet friends. The accused allegedly tracked his movements, intercepted him on a deserted road, and knocked down his motorcycle. Vijay then purportedly shot Mukesh in the chest at close range, resulting in his immediate death. Following the attack, the accused fled the scene on a motorcycle.
Extensive Investigation and Joint Operation
During the course of the investigation, police conducted raids across multiple locations, including Ishakpura, Doomoli, Patan, Neem Ka Thana, and Sikar. They examined between 150 to 200 CCTV footage clips to gather evidence and trace the suspects.
Upon receiving intelligence that the accused were hiding in the hills of Bhaisawata Kalan, the district special team and local police launched a coordinated cordon operation. This joint effort led to the successful arrest of all three individuals.
The police have emphasized the role of modern investigative techniques, such as CCTV analysis and technical surveillance, in solving this case. The arrests mark a crucial step in ensuring justice for the victim and his family, while also highlighting the ongoing efforts to combat crime in the region.
