Justice Surya Kant will succeed the outgoing CJI BR Gavai. Born on February 10, 1962, in a middle-class family in Hisar district, Haryana, his journey to the apex court is a testament to his dedication. He earned his law degree from Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak, in 1984 and began his legal practice the same year at the District Court in Hisar.
