Details of the Allegations

The complainant, developer Raj Chaturvedi, alleged that shortly after construction work began in Kalyan, activist Asha Rasal, her husband Rutukanchan Rasal, and their associate Nitin Mokal repeatedly threatened to obstruct the project. The accused allegedly planned to launch protests and hunger strikes, as well as file complaints before various government departments and authorities to disrupt the redevelopment work.

Demand and Negotiation

According to the First Information Report (FIR), the accused initially demanded Rs 1 crore from the developer in exchange for withdrawing their opposition to the project. This amount was later negotiated down. The complainant stated that the accused succeeded in collecting nearly Rs 8.6 lakh from the developer, including Rs 7 lakh in cash, between January 2024 and October 2025.
