Kanpur Blade Attack Victim Demands Justice, Fears Retaliation from Accused
A woman in Kanpur, who was brutally attacked with a blade along with her family members, has come forward to demand strict and immediate action against the perpetrators. The incident, which occurred on Thursday evening in a local market, has left the victim with severe injuries, including 25 stitches on her face, and has sparked fears of further violence.
Victim's Harrowing Account of the Attack
The woman recounted the terrifying events, stating that the accused, who were under the influence of alcohol and had been smoking cigarettes outside her home prior to the attack, launched a vicious assault. "The accused should be directly encountered. They attacked me with a blade; I got 25 stitches on my face," she said, emphasizing the severity of her injuries. She added that the attacker explicitly threatened to attack her again upon release, heightening her anxiety and sense of insecurity.
According to her testimony, the situation escalated when her family members, including her husband, brother-in-law, daughter, and younger sister, attempted to intervene and save her. In response, the accused turned their aggression towards them as well, resulting in a broader assault on the entire family. The woman had previously lodged a complaint with the police about the accused's behavior, but the attack occurred nonetheless, raising questions about the effectiveness of prior interventions.
