Kanpur Dhaba Owner Arrested for Assaulting Waiter

Kanpur: A dhaba owner was arrested after a waiter accused him and his two associates of brutally assaulting him at a roadside eatery on Mandhana Road in the Bithoor police station area.

According to police, Vimal Kumar, a resident of Sarai Maswanpur in Kalyanpur, works as a waiter at Bhatia Dhaba on Mandhana-Bithoor Road. He alleged that on Thursday evening, when he asked for money for personal expenses, the dhaba operator, Deepu Gupta, along with two associates identified as Gulli and Rahul, dragged him into a room and assaulted him with an iron rod, iron bar and belts.

Vimal claimed that the attack left his back and shoulder severely bruised and caused a fracture in his hand. He alleged that he was confined inside the room and managed to escape only after asking to use the toilet.
