Kanpur Girl Fatally Injured After Being Dragged by Speeding Motorcycle
A tragic incident unfolded in Kanpur on Monday evening when a class 5 student lost her life after being struck and dragged by a speeding motorcycle. The accident occurred at Nandana Chauraha in Ghatampur, leaving the local community in shock and the victim's family devastated.
Details of the Fatal Collision
The victim, identified as Divyanshi, aged 9, was a resident of Sardarpur under the Gajner police station area of Kanpur Dehat. She had visited Nandana market with her father, Nandlal, and their neighbor, Guddu Paswan, for shopping. After purchasing clothes and slippers, she was standing with her father at the chauraha when the speeding bike rammed into her.
The impact was severe, with the motorcycle striking between both legs of the girl. She became entangled in the vehicle and was dragged a considerable distance, sustaining critical injuries in the process.
Immediate Response and Tragic Outcome
Following the accident, bystanders at the scene quickly intervened. They managed to catch the two young men riding the bike and promptly handed them over to the police. Divyanshi was rushed to the Community Health Centre (CHC) for emergency treatment. Despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries and died during treatment.
The girl's death has left her family devastated and distraught, highlighting the profound personal loss caused by such road accidents.
Police Action and Investigation
Sumit Kumar, the in-charge of the Nandana police outpost, confirmed that both men involved in the incident have been taken into custody. The body has been sent for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death and gather further evidence for legal proceedings.
