Kanpur Murder Accused Arrested After Firing at Police

The main accused in the murder case of hosiery businessman Vijay Chaurasia in Kanpur was arrested near Ganga Barrage after he allegedly opened fire at police while trying to flee. Police received information that the absconding accused was spotted near Ganga Barrage. When police cordoned off the area and asked him to surrender, he opened fire. Police retaliated and apprehended him.

Details of the Murder

On Friday evening at 6:30 pm, the restaurant operator called the hosiery businessman at Pheel Khana. He seated him on a scooter and took him to a house, where he shot him in the head on the first-floor staircase, killing him. A scuffle had also taken place between the two before the murder.

Police Investigation

Police said that when the tenants residing in the house came out upon hearing the gunshot, they saw a man fleeing. The accused was also seen leaving on a scooter in the CCTV footage. Additional police commissioner (Law and Order) Vipin Tada deployed four police teams to search for the murder accused, which met with success today.
