In a significant operation, a joint team led by ADCP Operations Sumit Sudhakar Ramteke and Rawatpur Police successfully busted a gang involved in drug trafficking during a raid near Polytechnic on Thursday. The authorities arrested two men and one woman, who were allegedly responsible for supplying ganja that had been transported from Odisha.
Arrests and Seizures in the Drug Bust
The police apprehended the accused individuals, identified as Akbar Ali, also known as Chingari, from Unnao; Umesh Chandra Rajput from Kakadeo; and Salmana Begum from Fatehgarh. During the operation, law enforcement officials seized approximately 50 kilograms of marijuana from the suspects, marking a substantial blow to the illicit drug trade in the region.

During interrogation, the traffickers revealed that members of the gang employed sophisticated methods to avoid detection and arrest. Specifically, they utilized VIP trains, such as the Tejas Express, to transport the contraband. This tactic allowed them to blend in with legitimate passengers and reduce the risk of being caught by authorities during transit.
