Kanpur Student's Kidnapping Tale Unravels as Temple Visit Truth Emerges
Police in Kanpur have uncovered a fabricated kidnapping story from a Class 8 student. The girl made up the dramatic claim to escape family scolding after she skipped school to visit a temple instead.
Alert Police Spring into Action
On Friday afternoon, authorities received information about an attempted kidnapping. The control room immediately alerted senior officers. Assistant Commissioner of Police Kalyanpur rushed to the scene with local police forces.
The student, crying and distressed, told officers that four youths in a car tried to kidnap her. She claimed they fled when people arrived at the scene.
Investigation Reveals Inconsistencies
Police thoroughly examined the incident site in Awas Vikas 1, Kalyanpur. They checked nearby CCTV cameras installed in the area. The footage and circumstances at the location did not match the student's story.
Officers then took the girl into confidence and questioned her calmly. During this gentle interrogation, she admitted the truth.
Temple Visit Instead of School
The student confessed she had gone to the Vaishno temple located in Naramau, Bithoor. She visited the religious site instead of attending school that day. When she returned home late, fear of family reprimand prompted her to invent the kidnapping narrative.
Family members expressed regret about the entire incident after learning the truth. They did not file any formal complaint about the matter.
Police Statement Confirms Findings
Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) SM Qasim Abidi addressed the situation clearly. He stated the kidnapping information provided by the student was completely false.
"The student left home for school but went to the temple instead," the Deputy Commissioner explained. "Due to fear of being scolded by family members, she made up a false story. Currently, no complaint was filed by the family members."
The police investigation successfully distinguished fact from fiction in this Kanpur case. It prevented unnecessary panic while addressing the student's fabricated claims with appropriate measures.
