A group of youths brought traffic to a standstill and created a major public nuisance in Kanpur, with a video of their reckless actions spreading rapidly across social media platforms. The incident, which involved dangerous stunts, loud music, and blatant disruption of law and order, has prompted a police investigation.
Night of Chaos at Bhauti Underpass
The disruptive episode unfolded at the Bhauti underpass in the Sachendi police station area. According to details gathered, the event took place on the night of January 5, around midnight. The young men arrived at the location in cars and proceeded to park them consecutively, effectively blocking the road.
They then blared loud music from their vehicles and incessantly honked horns, turning the underpass into a zone of chaos. The situation escalated when several youths climbed onto the roofs of the parked cars. They were seen dancing and performing stunts dangerously, completely disregarding the safety of themselves and others.
Viral Video and Police Investigation
A passer-by, witnessing the unruly scene, recorded a video on their mobile phone. This clip was later uploaded to social media, where it quickly went viral, drawing widespread condemnation from netizens. The footage clearly showed the youths stopping other vehicles on the road, dancing on car tops, and causing a severe traffic snarl.
Taking cognisance of the viral video, the Kanpur police launched a probe into the matter. Police officials scrutinized the video to identify the individuals involved. Joint Commissioner of Police Ashutosh Kumar addressed the media, stating that the primary youth identified from the video is named Harsh Yadav.
Birthday Celebration Turns Into Legal Trouble
Revealing the motive behind the gathering, Joint Commissioner Ashutosh Kumar stated that Harsh Yadav had come to the underpass with his friends to celebrate a birthday. However, the manner of celebration crossed all lines of lawful conduct. The senior police officer emphatically declared that their actions were a clear violation of the law.
He further confirmed that the police have taken serious note of the incident and instructions have been issued for strict action against all the guilty youths. The case highlights the zero-tolerance approach towards public nuisance and dangerous behavior on roads, which endangers public safety and property.
