Kapurthala Deputy Commissioner Orders On-Campus Boarding for School Buses

Kapurthala Deputy Commissioner Akash Bansal on Monday issued a directive to all private schools in the district, mandating that students board and alight from school buses exclusively within school campuses. The order aims to enhance student safety and reduce traffic congestion on public roads.

Ban on Roadside Parking of School Buses

DC Bansal also instructed schools to stop parking buses on roadsides, warning that such practices elevate the risk of road accidents and contribute to traffic jams. The directive comes in response to reports received by the district administration indicating that some schools were allowing students to board and disembark outside school premises while buses remained parked along public roads.

Safety and Traffic Concerns

The DC emphasized that allowing students to board and alight on public roads poses a serious safety risk, as children are vulnerable to moving vehicles. Additionally, the practice leads to traffic congestion and inconvenience to the public. He stressed that these directions should be treated with utmost urgency and warned that no negligence or laxity in implementation would be tolerated.
