The victim, identified as Erammal, was resting in her house around 11 pm when the perpetrator forcibly entered the premises. The robber immediately attempted to snatch the gold chain weighing approximately four sovereigns that she was wearing. When Erammal resisted the theft attempt, the situation turned violent.
The masked attacker physically assaulted the elderly woman before successfully taking the valuable ornament and fleeing the scene. This brazen act of violence against a senior citizen has sparked outrage among local residents and authorities alike.
