Prayagraj: The Kaushambi police have launched a week-long operation named 'Pehchan' aimed at tightening the noose around wanted criminals, habitual offenders, and conducting physical verification of lawbreakers across villages, blocks, and towns. This initiative seeks to enhance public safety by systematically identifying and tracking individuals with criminal records.
Operation Details and Methodology
Under the operation, police personnel will scrutinize the details of criminals registered in the Yaksha app and take appropriate actions based on the findings. The authorities have also compiled a list of the top 10 most wanted criminals at the police station level. Special teams have been constituted to conduct physical verification of individuals involved in serious offenses such as cattle smuggling and slaughtering, loot, robbery, snatching, drug peddling, and hooch manufacturing.
Supervision by Senior Officers
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) rank officials have been entrusted with overseeing the operation. Each DSP is required to personally conduct the physical verification of at least one of the top 10 criminals in their jurisdiction. This high-level involvement ensures accountability and thoroughness in the verification process.
Verification Process
The police teams will visit the residences of troublemakers and lawbreakers to verify their identities, collect additional details, and update their records on the Yaksha app. This step is crucial for maintaining accurate and current data on criminal activities, which aids in swift action when needed.
