The assault occurred around 9:30 AM when the assailant, Ashwanth, a native of Parassala, forcibly entered the gym premises. According to police reports, Ashwanth, a regular visitor to the facility, barged in and attacked Kavya with a knife he had brought with him. The attack resulted in two stab injuries on the back of her head and one on her chest, causing severe bleeding.

Hearing her screams, locals and gym staff rushed to the scene, where they found both Kavya and Ashwanth lying in a pool of blood. In a disturbing turn of events, Ashwanth allegedly attempted suicide after the stabbing by consuming rat poison and slashing his wrist.

Emergency Response and Medical Treatment

Kavya was immediately rushed to Neyyattinkara General Hospital for initial treatment. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was later shifted to a private hospital in Neyyattinkara for specialized care. Hospital authorities have confirmed that she is now out of danger and receiving appropriate medical attention.

Ashwanth was also taken to Neyyattinkara General Hospital initially. However, as his condition deteriorated, he was transferred to the Medical College Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram for advanced treatment. His current medical status remains under close monitoring.

Preliminary investigations by the Parassala police station point to unrequited love as the primary motive behind the attack. According to police statements, Ashwanth confessed to being in love with Kavya, but she had rejected any romantic relationship, stating she was only acquainted with him.

"The accused told us he was in love with the victim. However, she said she was only acquainted with him and had rejected any such relationship. More details will emerge after further questioning," explained an officer from the Parassala police station.

Police have indicated that Ashwanth's arrest will be recorded formally once he is medically stable. The investigation is ongoing to uncover further details about the relationship dynamics and the events leading up to the violent incident.
