Kerala Man Brutally Murdered Following Violent Bar Altercation in Kadakkal
A horrific incident of violence unfolded in Kadakkal, Kollam district, on Saturday night, resulting in the brutal murder of a 38-year-old man. The victim, identified as Sarath, a native of Viala, Kadakkal, was hacked to death after a brawl escalated at a local bar.
Details of the Fatal Altercation
According to police reports, Sarath had visited a bar in Kadakkal to consume alcohol. During his time there, an argument erupted between him and another individual named Rahul. The verbal dispute quickly intensified, drawing in a group of four persons, leading to a physical confrontation.
Bar staff intervened promptly to separate the conflicting groups and restore order. However, the situation took a deadly turn after Sarath left the premises. The other group allegedly followed him in an autorickshaw, intercepting him near Mele Pandalam Mukku.
Brutal Attack and Fatal Injuries
The assailants, armed with sharp weapons, launched a vicious attack on Sarath. Despite his attempts to escape by running to a nearby house, they chased him down and repeatedly stabbed and slashed him, inflicting grievous injuries.
Local residents, alerted by the commotion, rushed the critically injured Sarath to the Kadakkal Taluk Hospital. Due to the severity of his wounds, he was later transferred to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital for advanced medical treatment. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries, marking a devastating loss for his family and community.
Police Investigation and Manhunt
Kadakkal police have registered a case in connection with the murder and have launched an intensive manhunt to apprehend Rahul and the other accused involved in the incident. Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage and gathering witness statements to piece together the events leading to the fatal attack.
