A 20-year-old undergraduate student from Kerala has lodged a complaint against a real estate broker, alleging that he attempted to rape her during a late-night gathering near Madiwala in Bengaluru. The incident reportedly took place on May 11 after discussions regarding the sale of the restaurant where the woman works part-time.

Details of the Alleged Incident

According to the complaint filed by the woman, the accused, identified as Hainas, first behaved inappropriately with her on a staircase. He then allegedly tried to sexually assault her in a room after the other attendees briefly stepped out. The woman claimed that her employer and his friend returned in time to rescue her from the situation.

Threats and Intimidation

The accused is said to have threatened those present at the party with a liquor bottle. Later, he allegedly intimidated the victim and others outside the jurisdictional police station. The woman also accused the police of asking inappropriate questions during the initial stages of the complaint. However, senior police officials denied these allegations, stating that a case has been registered and a notice has been served on the accused.

Senior officers clarified that an investigation is underway and appropriate legal action will be taken. They assured that the victim's safety is being prioritized and that all procedures are being followed as per the law.
