KGMU Files Complaint Against Associate of Suspended Prof

Lucknow: King George's Medical University (KGMU) on Friday lodged a complaint at Chowk police station against a man alleged to be an associate of suspended ophthalmology faculty member Prof Sanjiv Gupta on charges of directing patients to a private medical store.

Details of the Complaint

KGMU spokesperson Prof KK Singh said the associate, despite being barred, continued to sit inside the doctor's chamber and escorted cataract patients to the store based on prescriptions issued by Prof Gupta. He was barred from the campus a few years ago when during an inspection he was found inside the chamber.

Suspension of Prof Gupta

Prof Gupta was suspended on Thursday by the vice-chancellor over allegations of prescribing lenses and medicines from the shop outside the campus instead of subsidised shops in the hospital.
