Khan Sir Won't Surrender, Bail on Monday: Lawyer

Patna: Educationist and coaching institute owner Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, will not surrender in the Patna Civil Court, his lawyer Arvind Kumar Mahuar said on Saturday. The legal team is set to file a bail application on Monday. “The time to file an anticipatory bail plea in court ended on Saturday. We will file it on Monday,” the lawyer added.

Background of the Case

The case originates from an attack on Khan Sir’s coaching centre that took place on June 2. Videos of the incident that went viral on social media show several individuals assaulting a security guard, throwing bricks and stones, and tearing down posters outside the institute. There were initial reports of firing, but the Patna Police later denied any gunshots. Two security guards employed by Khan Sir have already been arrested and sent to jail. Khan Sir himself was questioned earlier in connection with the incident.

Legal Proceedings

The anticipatory bail plea could not be filed on Saturday due to the expiry of the time limit. The lawyer confirmed that they will approach the court on Monday to seek bail for Khan Sir. The case has attracted significant attention, given Khan Sir’s popularity as a teacher and social media influencer.
