First Incident: Fratricide in Rajarampuri
The first tragedy unfolded on Sunday night in the Rajarampuri area of Kolhapur city, where a man was fatally attacked by his own younger brother. The victim has been identified as Harsh Pandharbale, aged 21. According to police reports, the assailant, Yash Pandharbale (19), used a metal bottle to repeatedly strike his brother on the head, resulting in Harsh's untimely death.
A police officer provided further details, stating, "Yash later came to the police station and confessed to the crime. He explained that his brother was a habitual drinker who frequently engaged in arguments with their parents and neighbors." The officer added that Harsh is survived by his wife and two young daughters, highlighting the profound personal loss inflicted by this violent act.
Second Incident: Autorickshaw Driver Found Dead Near Gandhinagar
In a separate and equally distressing case, the body of an autorickshaw driver was discovered early on Monday morning at Maner Mala, located near Gandhinagar. The deceased was named as Prashant Baburao Pandit. Police investigations revealed that on the previous night, Pandit had been involved in a dispute with two individuals: Yash Dipak Dorkar (21) and Amit Khutbuddin Ainapure (22).
Acting on leads, the police tracked down Dorkar and Ainapure, who were found hiding near a hotel on Bharati Vidyapeeth Road. Both suspects were promptly arrested in connection with the murder, underscoring the police's proactive efforts to address the escalating violence.
