Kolkata STF Arrests Teen from Bihar with Arsenal of 18 Guns, 40 Rounds
In a significant crackdown on illegal arms trafficking, the Special Task Force of Kolkata Police apprehended a 17-year-old youth from Bihar on Wednesday. The operation resulted in the seizure of a substantial cache of weaponry, including at least five finished firearms, 13 unfinished ones, and 40 rounds of ammunition.

The meticulously planned operation was conducted near a public utility at the Babughat bus stand on Strand Road. Acting on credible intelligence regarding the movement of illegal arms, an STF team, under the leadership of Sub-Inspector Bikash Minj, set up a strategic trap on the eastern pavement of Strand Road.
Around 12:15 PM, the team successfully intercepted the suspect, a resident of Nalanda, Bihar. A thorough search of his person and belongings revealed the alarming haul of weaponry in his possession.

- Three full country-made single-shot firearms
- Two 7 mm semi-automatic pistols
- Thirteen parts of semi-finished weapons
- Four magazines
- Eighteen rounds of 8 mm cartridges
- Twenty-two rounds of 7.65 mm cartridges
