Kota Police Crack Murder Case Within 24 Hours, Arrest Accused in Financial Dispute
In a swift police operation, Kota authorities have successfully solved a murder case within just 24 hours, leading to the arrest of a 37-year-old man accused of killing a 55-year-old woman at her residence in the RK Puram police station area. The victim, identified as Brijesh Sharma, was discovered deceased on the upper floor of her double-storey house in Ganesh Nagar on Sunday morning, with visible injury marks on her body and scattered household items indicating a violent struggle had taken place.
Accused Arrested Based on Technical Inputs and Investigation
Police officials arrested the accused, Pukhraj Pareta, a resident of Indira Gandhi Nagar under Udhyog Nagar police limits, following thorough technical analysis and investigative work. Kota City Superintendent of Police Tejaswani Gautam confirmed that Pareta was acquainted with the victim and had ongoing financial dealings with her, which ultimately led to the tragic incident.
Financial Dispute Identified as Motive for Murder
During initial interrogation, the accused confessed that the murder stemmed directly from a financial disagreement. Investigators revealed that the victim was involved in money lending at interest rates, resulting in multiple financial transactions with Pareta. The accused, who frequently visited Sharma's house, allegedly developed disputes with her over monetary matters, escalating to violence.
Police investigation indicates that Pareta was aware that cash and jewellery were kept within the residence, leading authorities to suspect he had planned the crime in advance. After allegedly killing the woman, he fled the scene with cash, gold and silver jewellery, and important documents in an attempt to make the incident appear as a robbery rather than a targeted attack.
Familiarity with Victim's Routine Facilitated Crime
According to police statements, the accused was familiar with the victim's daily routine and patterns. On the day of the incident, he entered the house, assaulted her physically, and ultimately strangled her before escaping with valuable items. Law enforcement officials are currently making concerted efforts to recover the stolen items and gather additional evidence to strengthen the case against the accused.
The quick resolution of this case highlights the effectiveness of modern investigative techniques and prompt police response in Kota. Authorities continue to work diligently to ensure justice is served for the victim and her family while sending a strong message about the consequences of violent crime in the community.
