In a swift police operation, Kota authorities have successfully solved a murder case within just 24 hours, leading to the arrest of a 37-year-old man accused of killing a 55-year-old woman at her residence in the RK Puram police station area. The victim, identified as Brijesh Sharma, was discovered deceased on the upper floor of her double-storey house in Ganesh Nagar on Sunday morning, with visible injury marks on her body and scattered household items indicating a violent struggle had taken place.

Police officials arrested the accused, Pukhraj Pareta, a resident of Indira Gandhi Nagar under Udhyog Nagar police limits, following thorough technical analysis and investigative work. Kota City Superintendent of Police Tejaswani Gautam confirmed that Pareta was acquainted with the victim and had ongoing financial dealings with her, which ultimately led to the tragic incident.

After allegedly killing the woman, he fled the scene with cash, gold and silver jewellery, and important documents in an attempt to make the incident appear as a robbery rather than a targeted attack.

On the day of the incident, he entered the house, assaulted her physically, and ultimately strangled her before escaping with valuable items.
