In a shocking incident, a 36-year-old car driver was hacked to death by an unidentified gang over a long-running property dispute near his village in Hosur, Krishnagiri district, on Tuesday night. The Bagalur police have identified the deceased as Lokesh, a resident of Kattikhanapalli near Hosur.

Details of the Tragic Incident

According to an investigation officer, the incident occurred when Lokesh was heading home for dinner. He was driving a tourist car and received a phone call as he neared the village water tank. The caller instructed him to stop his vehicle near a tree in the locality.

Upon stopping, Lokesh was confronted by a three-member gang. A heated argument ensued, after which the gang attacked him with a knife and fled the scene. Lokesh suffered severe injuries to his head, face, and neck, leading to his death on the spot.

Police Response and Investigation

When alerted, the Bagalur police promptly responded, sending the body to the government hospital in Hosur for a postmortem examination. In their efforts to gather evidence, the police also deployed a sniffer dog at the crime scene.

The investigation officer pointed out that Lokesh and his relatives had been involved in a protracted property dispute, suggesting that the murder might be directly linked to this discord. A case has been registered, and a manhunt has been launched to apprehend the suspects.

Family and Aftermath

Lokesh is survived by his wife, Bhavani, and their two children. The community has been left in shock by this brutal act of violence, highlighting the severe consequences of unresolved property disputes.
