Kunal Ghosh to Submit Court Order on Security to Police

Kolkata: Beleghata Trinamool Congress MLA Kunal Ghosh announced on Tuesday that he would forward a copy of the court order concerning his security to the Kolkata police. In a social media post, Ghosh stated, "I had requested security from the court... it instructed the police to provide 'all kinds' of security."

Challenge to Security Withdrawal

Ghosh further emphasized that the order he had seen regarding the withdrawal of his security cannot legally be issued in the form of a circular in his case. He argued that any decision to revoke security must follow proper legal procedures and cannot be done through a mere administrative directive.

Background

The TMC leader had earlier approached the court seeking enhanced security, citing threats to his life. The court had directed the police to provide comprehensive security cover. However, recent reports suggested that the security was being withdrawn, prompting Ghosh to take legal recourse.
