Kurukshetra Police Apprehend Accused in Heinous Minor Rape and Blackmail Case

In a significant development, the Kurukshetra police have successfully arrested an individual accused of the rape and blackmail of a minor girl. The arrest was executed by the women police station team under the direct supervision of Kurukshetra Superintendent of Police Nitish Aggarwal. The accused, a resident of Kurukshetra who operates a boutique in the local neighbourhood, was taken into custody following a detailed investigation.

Complaint and Disturbing Details Emerge

According to a police spokesperson, the case came to light on February 13, 2026, when a district resident filed a formal complaint. The complainant reported that her minor daughter, a Class VII student, had been visibly distressed for several days. Upon careful questioning, the young girl revealed a harrowing ordeal: the accused had sexually assaulted her and recorded a video of the incident.

The accused then allegedly used this video as leverage, threatening to make it viral if the victim did not comply with further sexual exploitation. This continuous blackmail and abuse caused severe trauma to the minor, prompting her mother to seek police intervention.

Swift Police Action and Legal Proceedings

Immediately after the complaint was lodged, the women police station registered a case under relevant sections of the law. Sub-Inspector Saroj was assigned to lead the investigation. As part of the procedural steps, the victim underwent a medical examination, and counselling services were arranged through the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) to support her recovery.

On February 14, 2026, acting on the directions of Deputy Superintendent of Police (women against crime) Rohtas Kumar, a specialized team was formed. This team, comprising Sub-Inspector Saroj, Assistant Sub-Inspector Praveen, and Sunil Kumar, successfully located and arrested the accused.

The accused was promptly produced before the court, which ordered his remand to judicial custody. This legal step ensures he remains in detention as the investigation continues and legal proceedings advance.

Community Impact and Police Commitment

This case highlights the critical role of prompt police response in protecting vulnerable minors from sexual predators. The collaborative efforts of the women police station, under the leadership of SP Nitish Aggarwal and DSP Rohtas Kumar, demonstrate a firm commitment to justice and child safety in Kurukshetra.

Authorities have urged the public to report any similar incidents immediately, emphasizing that such crimes will be met with stringent legal action. The police continue to investigate all aspects of the case to ensure a thorough prosecution.
