Labourer stoned to death in Nagpur's Hingna tehsil

Nagpur: In a shocking incident, a 32-year-old daily wage labourer was stoned to death near a dargah in the Isasani Madhavnagari area under the MIDC police station limits in Hingna tehsil on Sunday evening. The deceased has been identified as Ankush Shende, a resident of Panchsheel Nagar in Isasani.

Incident Details

Local residents passing through the area spotted Ankush lying in a pool of blood around 8 pm. They immediately alerted the MIDC police. Station Officer Gokul Mahajan and inspector Sanjay Bansod rushed to the spot and conducted a panchnama. Preliminary investigation revealed that the deceased sustained severe head injuries caused by stones. Ankush, who was known to be addicted to alcohol, was last seen wandering in the locality around 5 pm.

Possible Motive

The exact motive behind the brutal murder is yet to be ascertained, but police suspect it could be linked to a personal enmity or an altercation. The body has been sent for autopsy. MIDC police have registered a case of murder and launched a manhunt to nab the accused. Teams have been formed to question locals and gather CCTV footage from the surrounding areas.
