The legal representative for Shivam Mishra, who was apprehended in connection with a Lamborghini accident in Kanpur, has publicly declared that his client has been "wrongly arrested" and was not operating the vehicle at the time of the incident. Shivam Mishra, identified as the son of tobacco businessman KK Mishra and a resident of Arya Nagar, was taken into custody by Uttar Pradesh police on Thursday from a hospital in Kanpur. This arrest occurred four days after the luxury car collided with multiple vehicles near Jhula Park Crossing on VIP Road on Sunday afternoon, resulting in at least one injury. DCP Central Kanpur Atul Kumar Srivastava emphasized that after a thorough investigation, authorities concluded Mishra was indeed driving the car during the accident. "We got information that he is in Kanpur. Five teams were formed, and we have arrested him, and he has been presented in court. In the investigation, it has been found that during the accident, Shivam Mishra was driving the car," Srivastava stated.
Conflicting Accounts from the Defense
In stark opposition to the police findings, lawyer Narendra Kumar Yadav vehemently disputes the arrest, asserting that Mishra was not behind the wheel. "He has been wrongly arrested by the police. He was not driving the car," Yadav declared. Supporting this claim, the family's driver, Mohan, provided a detailed account a day earlier, stating he was driving the vehicle with Mishra as a passenger. According to Mohan, Mishra experienced a medical episode during the ride. "Yes. He had a seizure. Suddenly, his arms and legs started shaking, and he fell on me. I was there on the day the accident happened. The bouncer pulled me out of the car," Mohan explained. The lawyer further noted that Mohan has submitted an affidavit accepting full responsibility for the crash, adding a layer of complexity to the case.
