The family structure included the victim, Roshani Devi, who had two sons, two daughters, and an adopted son named Rupesh.
Santosh Devi recounted the horrifying moment when her husband confessed to the crime. Kamal approached her and admitted that he had shot his mother, leaving her body on the street. Upon rushing to the spot, Santosh discovered her mother-in-law lying face down with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. She promptly informed Rupesh, the adopted brother-in-law, who then alerted the police, setting the investigation in motion.
