Lucknow Boy, 13, Dies in Accidental Shooting at Friend's Birthday Party
A tragic incident unfolded in Lucknow on Monday evening when a 13-year-old boy was accidentally shot dead during a birthday celebration in the Krishna Nagar area. Police authorities have confirmed the detention of all three minors who were present at the party as they work to reconstruct the sequence of events leading to the fatal shooting.
Details of the Incident
According to official police statements, the incident occurred around 7 pm on Monday at the residence of a real estate agent in Krishna Nagar. The victim, a Class VII student residing under the jurisdiction of the Sarojini Nagar police station, had attended the 13th birthday party of a friend from the same class.
ACP Rajneesh Verma of Krishna Nagar provided initial details, stating that the gathering included children aged 13 and 14 years, along with the victim and the host child whose birthday was being celebrated. The host child is now in conflict with the law following the incident.
Police Investigation and Family Complaint
Police officials reported that during the party, the children allegedly began handling a revolver kept inside the house out of curiosity. In the course of this handling, the weapon accidentally discharged, resulting in a gunshot injury to one of the boys.
The injured boy was immediately rushed to Lok Bandhu Hospital by the house owner, where doctors declared him dead upon arrival. Police were simultaneously informed about the incident.
DCP Nipun Agarwal of South Zone revealed that the family has filed a complaint with police alleging intentional firing. As a result, a case under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) is being registered against the child and his father. However, Agarwal noted that preliminary evidence suggests the case appears to be one of accidental firing.

Police officials reached the scene promptly after receiving information from the police station. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and further legal proceedings are currently underway.
