Lucknow Businessman Brutally Run Over by SUV in Summit Building Altercation
In a shocking incident that has raised serious concerns about public safety, a businessman was brutally run over with an SUV and pinned under its wheels for nearly 25 minutes during a violent altercation at the Summit building in Lucknow's Vibhuti Khand area late Thursday night, according to police reports.
Arrests Made and Vehicle Seized
Two accused individuals, identified as residents of Uttarakhand, have been arrested, and the SUV used in the crime has been seized by authorities. Amar Singh, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Vibhuti Khand, confirmed that raids are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects involved in this horrific attack.
Incident Occurred Near Police Outpost
The violent episode occurred just a few steps away from a police outpost, highlighting significant security lapses in the area. The matter came to public attention on Sunday following the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) on Saturday.
Details of the Violent Altercation
The attack unfolded inside the Summit Building complex, where the complainant had attended a party with friends. According to police accounts, the businessman attempted to intervene when a group of youths traveling in an SUV and another car were seen arguing in the parking area around 1 AM.
Eyewitnesses described how the situation escalated dramatically after the victim tried to pacify the youths. The group allegedly turned violent, assaulting him and attempting to snatch a chain from one of his friends. When the victim resisted these aggressive actions, the accused rammed the SUV directly into him and attempted to flee the scene.
Deliberate Running Over and Prolonged Suffering
As security guards moved to shut the gate to prevent the vehicle's escape, the accused reportedly reversed the SUV and deliberately ran over the victim, pinning both his legs under the wheels. The SUV remained stationary on his legs for approximately 25 minutes, during which the victim screamed desperately for help. His friend was allegedly beaten with belts when he tried to intervene in the brutal assault.
Rescue and Medical Condition
Police personnel from the nearby outpost eventually reached the spot and, with assistance from locals, managed to pull the victim from beneath the vehicle. He was rushed to a hospital where he remains in critical condition, fighting for his life.
