Lucknow Christmas Outing Turns Tragic: Class 9 Girl Critical, Police Probe Attempted Murder
Lucknow Girl Critical After Festive Outing, Murder Angle Probed

A joyous Christmas celebration took a horrifying turn for a teenage girl in Lucknow, who was discovered severely injured and bleeding on a roadside, leading to a major police investigation with allegations of attempted murder.

From Celebration to Catastrophe on Christmas Night

The victim, a Class 9 student residing in Aashiana, had gone out on the evening of December 25 after receiving assurances from friends that they would visit a mall together. However, the plan allegedly changed, and the group went to a different location near Neelmatha on Shaheed Path. The situation deteriorated when the group split up, and the girl failed to return home.

Her mother's anxiety turned to dread when she received a call later that night claiming her daughter had been in a road accident. The family rushed to the SGPGI Trauma Centre, where they found the minor unconscious and soaked in blood. She was immediately put on ventilator support and has remained in a comatose state for the past five days.

Conflicting Claims Trigger High-Level Police Probe

While the girl's friends initially maintained that it was a tragic road accident, her mother filed a formal complaint alleging attempted murder. This stark contradiction prompted the police to launch a high-level investigation. An FIR was registered on Tuesday at the PGI police station based on the mother's complaint.

The family has raised serious doubts about the accident theory. They pointed out that there is no police record or eyewitness account of any road mishap occurring in that area on the night in question. Adding to the suspicion, some of the friends involved have reportedly become untraceable, and their statements to the authorities have been inconsistent.

Legal Action and Ongoing Investigation

Police are exploring all angles, focusing particularly on the role of those last seen with the victim. PGI Station House Officer DK Singh confirmed that sections BNS 115(2) for voluntarily causing hurt, 118(1) for non-grievous hurt, and 109 for attempt to murder have been invoked against all individuals named by the victim's mother.

"Our investigation has identified two girls named in the case, both are Class 9 students aged 15 and 16. They continue to claim it was an accident," stated SHO Singh. As part of the probe, authorities are meticulously tracing CCTV footage from all along the stretch of Shaheed Path to reconstruct the exact sequence of events that unfolded on December 25. The girl's critical condition continues to hang in the balance as the search for truth intensifies.
