Additional Violent Incidents Reported Across Lucknow
In a separate incident within the PGI police station jurisdiction, authorities arrested a 23-year-old man for allegedly opening fire at a youth due to a longstanding rivalry. Police reports indicate the accused allegedly fired at the victim on March 4 in Telibagh following an argument, resulting in the victim sustaining a gunshot injury to the abdomen.
Acting on specific intelligence, police later arrested the accused and recovered an illegal .32 bore country-made pistol along with an empty cartridge from his possession, highlighting concerns about illegal firearms in the region.
Meanwhile, in Jankipuram, a man identified as Sonu was critically injured after a neighbour allegedly attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon following a minor argument during Holika Dahan celebrations. Family members rushed him to a nearby hospital, from where he was referred to the trauma centre with serious neck and head injuries requiring specialized medical attention. Police confirmed the accused fled the scene immediately after the attack.
Preventive Police Actions Ahead of Holi Celebrations
In proactive measures to maintain public order during the festival period, PGI police arrested four youths for allegedly creating disturbances and disrupting public peace at various locations within their jurisdiction. These preventive arrests demonstrate police efforts to curb potential violence during the festive season.
The series of incidents has raised concerns about public safety during major festivals, with authorities emphasizing the importance of peaceful celebrations and prompt law enforcement response to maintain social harmony in the city.
