Lucknow Police Personnel Celebrate Holi with Festive Fervor After Festival Duty

Following hectic duty ensuring law and order across the city during the Holi festival, Lucknow Police personnel took time on Thursday to celebrate the festival of colors with great enthusiasm, music, and camaraderie. The celebration highlighted the human side of the police force as officers and constables came together for a vibrant event.

Colorful Procession from Hazratganj Kotwali to Police Lines

Personnel from various police stations and outposts gathered at Hazratganj Kotwali in the morning, where celebrations began with officers and constables smearing gulal on one another. The gathering soon transformed into a lively procession moving towards Lucknow Police Lines, creating a spectacle of colors and joy through the city streets.

Women police personnel participated actively in the celebrations, with some riding in vintage cars that added a nostalgic charm to the procession. Officers wore festive caps, sunglasses, and masks while bursting gulal crackers, creating an atmosphere of pure celebration.

Senior Officers Join Festivities with Grand Chariot Entry

Lucknow police commissioner Amrendra Singh Sengar and joint commissioner of police (law and order) Babloo Kumar joined the celebrations alongside other senior officers. Commissioner Sengar made a particularly grand entry, seated on a beautifully decorated chariot driven by additional DCP (Central Zone) Jitendra Kumar Dubey.

Sharing the chariot with Commissioner Sengar were DCP (central zone) Vikrant Vir and Joint Commissioner Babloo Kumar. Police personnel welcomed the senior officers with garlands, colorful caps, and dark glasses before escorting them to a decorated horse-drawn carriage for the procession.

Festive Atmosphere with Music, Dance, and Colors

"A day after Holi, it's the turn of Lucknow Police to celebrate even as we extend warm wishes for happiness and harmony to all," said Commissioner Sengar while greeting the personnel. Officers and constables responded by showering flower petals on Sengar and splashing buckets of colored water amid cheers, music, and dance.

ACP Vikas Jaiswal joined personnel dancing along the route, adding to the festive spirit. Back at Hazratganj Kotwali, police personnel continued playing with colors and sharing sweets, extending the celebration throughout the day.

Inclusive Celebration Across Police Stations

SHO Vikram Singh noted that those who could not participate in the main procession marked the festival at their respective police stations, celebrating after completing their duty responsibilities. This ensured that all personnel had the opportunity to participate in Holi celebrations despite their demanding schedules.

The celebration served as both a morale booster for police personnel and a demonstration of the force's commitment to maintaining public order while also participating in cultural traditions. The event successfully balanced professional responsibilities with festive participation, showcasing the police force's integration with community celebrations.
