Lucknow Police Implements Comprehensive Security Plan for Holika Dahan and Holi Festivities

In preparation for the upcoming Holi celebrations, the Lucknow Police Commissionerate has identified a total of 3,729 sites for Holika Dahan, the traditional bonfire ritual. The festivities are scheduled to commence with Holika Dahan on March 2, followed by the playing of colors on March 3 and 4. To ensure peaceful and orderly celebrations, authorities have put in place extensive security and traffic arrangements across the city.

Multi-Layered Law and Order Strategy for Holi Milan Programmes

Beyond the main festival days, several Holi Milan programmes and fairs are expected to continue, prompting the police to develop a multi-layered law and order plan. This comprehensive strategy aims to manage the large gatherings and events associated with the festival, ensuring public safety and minimizing disruptions.

Massive Police Deployment for Holika Sites and Events

To secure the numerous Holika Dahan sites and related events, the Lucknow Police has mobilized a significant force. The deployment includes:

  • Four additional deputy commissioners of police
  • 12 assistant commissioners of police
  • 19 inspectors
  • 72 sub-inspectors
  • 400 constables

This robust presence is designed to monitor activities, prevent incidents, and respond swiftly to any emergencies during the celebrations.

Enhanced Traffic Management and Surveillance Measures

The traffic wing of the police force has been reinforced to handle the increased vehicular movement during the festival. Key personnel include:

  • 22 inspectors
  • 75 sub-inspectors
  • 80 home guards
  • 660 constables

Additionally, to strengthen surveillance and response capabilities, 14 companies of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) have been mobilized. These units will be supported by wireless communication teams and local intelligence unit squads, enhancing real-time monitoring and coordination.

Coordinated Efforts and Detailed Planning for VVIP Protocols

In joint briefings involving all concerned departments, detailed instructions were issued on various critical aspects. These include specific deployment points for personnel, route planning to manage traffic flow efficiently, and protocols for VVIP movement to ensure their safety and minimize public inconvenience. The police emphasized that these measures are part of a proactive approach to maintain law and order during the festive period.
