Lucknow Razes Illegal Building in Suicide Abetment Case

The Lucknow Development Authority, in coordination with the police, demolished an allegedly illegal under-construction apartment building in Sector 6 on Saturday. The structure is said to be associated with the accused involved in the suicide abetment case of a female saloon manager on May 13.

Demolition and Notices

According to police officials, notices were pasted on the property before portions of the structure were razed during the drive. The action was part of the ongoing investigation into the case.

Sealing of Commercial Establishments

Investigators also found alleged links between the case and commercial establishments associated with another accused, identified as Sharad. Following this, police sealed a hotel, salon, and other business premises connected to him as part of the ongoing legal action, said SHO Gomti Nagar Extension Sudheer Awasthi.

Seizure of Vehicles

Three vehicles allegedly linked to the accused have also been seized, the SHO added. Officials said the vehicles were seized for forensic and evidentiary examination.

Arrests and Rewards

Police said the main accused, Mangalnath Yadav, 31, a resident of Batrauli Pandey village in Deoria district, had already been arrested and sent to judicial custody. To expedite the arrest of the remaining accused, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Deeksha Sharma announced a reward of Rs 25,000 each on the absconding suspects. Multiple police teams have been formed to trace and arrest them.

Legal Proceedings

The case, registered at Gomti Nagar Extension police station under Section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), is being investigated through what officials described as an extensive evidentiary and legal probe.
