Lucknow Teen Murder: Four Men Arrested After Brutal Killing of 16-Year-Old Girl

In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves through Lucknow, four men have been arrested for the brutal murder of a 16-year-old girl. The accused allegedly strangled the teenager and then placed her lifeless body on a railway track in a calculated attempt to destroy evidence and mislead investigators.

Republic Day Arrests in Heinous Crime

The four accused were apprehended by Lucknow Police on Republic Day, January 26, 2026. According to police officials, the primary motive behind this horrific crime was the suspicion that the victim was allegedly involved in relationships with two of the accused simultaneously.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Anshu Gautam alias Lucky (20), Ashiq Yadav (20), Rinshu Yadav (20), and Vaibhav Singh Rajput (23). All four are local residents of Lucknow and work at a private factory within the city.

Jealousy and Betrayal: The Motive Behind the Murder

Police investigations reveal a disturbing tale of jealousy and perceived betrayal. Anshu Gautam and Ashiq Yadav, who are close friends, discovered that the teenage girl was allegedly maintaining relationships with both of them without their knowledge of each other's involvement.

"The duo became enraged when they realized the girl was allegedly seeing both of them," explained Suresh Singh, the in-charge of the concerned police station. "They decided to 'teach her a lesson' for what they perceived as betrayal, which tragically escalated into a premeditated murder plot."

Chilling Details of the Crime

The sequence of events leading to the murder is particularly chilling:

  1. On January 13, Anshu reportedly contacted the victim and arranged a meeting.
  2. When the girl arrived at the designated spot, Ashiq and the two other accomplices were waiting in an SUV.
  3. The group forcibly dragged the teenager into the vehicle.
  4. Inside the SUV, they assaulted her before ultimately strangling her to death.
  5. After the murder, the accused placed her body on railway tracks where it was subsequently run over by a passing train, severing her head from her body in the impact.
  6. The perpetrators also smashed her mobile phone in an attempt to erase digital evidence of their involvement.

Police Investigation and Legal Proceedings

The case came to light when the victim's mother approached police on January 16, filing a complaint alleging that Anshu had eloped with her daughter. Police immediately registered a case and launched an investigation.

Through technical surveillance and local intelligence gathering, a police team traced and arrested Anshu from Para. During interrogation, Anshu admitted to his relationship with the victim and revealed the shocking details of the crime.

The initial First Information Report was lodged under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections 87 (kidnapping, abducting or inducing a woman to compel her marriage) and 137 (kidnapping). Following the discovery of the girl's death, murder charges have been added to the case.

Police have recovered the victim's body and the SUV allegedly used in the commission of the crime. The investigation continues as authorities work to gather additional evidence and build a strong case against the accused.

This tragic incident highlights the disturbing consequences of jealousy and violence, particularly against vulnerable young women. The Lucknow Police's swift action in arresting all four suspects within days of the crime being reported demonstrates their commitment to addressing such heinous acts with urgency and determination.
