In a shocking incident in Ludhiana, a young man was violently attacked and injured by a group of youths late on Wednesday night at Disco Colony. The victim, identified as Sahil Sharma, had stepped out to purchase kulfi when he was ambushed, leading to severe injuries including head trauma and an arm fracture.

Details of the Vicious Attack

Sahil Sharma recounted to the police that after buying kulfi and exiting the shop, he was surrounded by the accused, Movish Bains and his associates. The attackers allegedly struck him on the head with a pistol butt, causing him to begin losing consciousness. They then continued the assault using baseball bats, inflicting multiple injuries.

Family Members Also Targeted During Rescue

Upon learning of the attack, Sahil's father, Bittu, rushed to the scene along with his younger son, Mohit. When they attempted to rescue Sahil, the attackers turned on them as well, assaulting both Bittu and Mohit. According to Bittu, he and his son each received seven stitches on their heads due to the violence.

Bittu further alleged that the accused vandalized their scooter during the altercation, adding to the property damage and distress caused by the incident.

Police Response and Investigation Status

Bittu claimed that when he approached the local police station to file a complaint, officials did not heed his report and instead directed him to contact the police control room. This has raised concerns about the responsiveness of law enforcement in handling such violent crimes.

SHO Gurjeet Singh of division number four police station stated that a formal case would be registered only after the victim's statement is officially recorded. The delay in legal action has left the family anxious and seeking justice for the unprovoked attack.

The incident highlights growing safety issues in urban areas and underscores the need for prompt police intervention to prevent such assaults. Authorities are urged to expedite the investigation and ensure the perpetrators are held accountable to restore public confidence.
