A resident of Chandkheda has accused his brother-in-law of intentionally ramming a car into him and issuing threats, stemming from a prolonged marital conflict involving his sister. The complaint was filed with Chandkheda police on Tuesday.
Background of the Dispute
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the complainant, who works in animal husbandry, stated that his sister had been facing marital problems for nearly a decade. He alleged that her husband frequently demanded money and subjected her to harassment. The family had provided financial support and made multiple attempts to resolve the issue.
Incident on June 3
The complainant told police that on June 3, his sister called him in the morning, claiming her husband was assaulting her over monetary demands. The call was abruptly disconnected, and her phone later became unreachable.
A few hours later, while the complainant was standing outside his residence in Chandkheda, a car arrived carrying his sister, her two children, his brother-in-law, and another relative. According to the complaint, the children were first asked to get out of the vehicle, followed by his sister being pushed out.
Alleged Attack
The complainant alleged that his brother-in-law then drove the car towards him, knocking him down and causing injuries to his hands and legs. The occupants threatened him with dire consequences before fleeing the scene.
Later, the complainant received a phone call from another relative of his brother-in-law, who repeated the threats and warned that he would not be spared.

The complainant's uncle informed the police about the incident. Responding officers arrived at the spot and referred the injured man to a hospital for treatment. After receiving medical care, he approached the police and filed a formal complaint.
Based on the allegations, Chandkheda police have registered a case against the complainant's brother-in-law and two others on charges including causing hurt, criminal intimidation, and related offences.
