In a tragic incident in Singrauli district, Madhya Pradesh, a 28-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly causing the death of his one-year-old son during a domestic dispute. Police reported the arrest on Wednesday, following the incident that occurred on March 5 in Basoda village, under the jurisdiction of the Mada police station.

Details of the Incident

The accused, identified as Ramashankar Singh Gond, was involved in a heated argument with his wife over a domestic issue. During the altercation, he allegedly began assaulting her with a stick. In a devastating turn of events, the stick struck the couple's one-year-old son, Riyansh Singh Gond, on the head, resulting in severe internal injuries.

Family members immediately rushed the injured child to the district hospital trauma centre in Baidhan for emergency medical treatment. Despite efforts to save him, Riyansh succumbed to his injuries and died during treatment.

Police Action and Arrest

Following the incident, police registered a case and launched a search operation for the accused, who had fled the scene. After an intensive investigation, Ramashankar Singh Gond was apprehended by authorities. He was subsequently produced before a court, which ordered him to be placed in judicial custody.
