Nuh Man Arrested After Woman Alleges Sexual Assault, Blackmail, and Forced Conversion Pressure
A man from Nuh, Haryana, has been arrested following serious allegations by a 23-year-old woman from Punjab. The survivor claims she was sexually assaulted multiple times, blackmailed using obscene videos, and pressured to convert her religion after being lured to his village under the false pretext of marriage.
How the Alleged Crime Unfolded
According to police reports, the woman first came into contact with the accused through social media approximately one year ago. Their interactions grew frequent, and the man promised to marry her, convincing her of a long-term relationship. On March 20, he called her to his village in Nuh, assuring her that the marriage would take place around Eid.
Between March 20 and March 24, the woman alleges she was repeatedly sexually assaulted during her stay. When she insisted on marriage, the accused demanded she convert her religion as a precondition. Upon her refusal, he assaulted her, threatened to kill her, and forcibly ejected her from the house.
Blackmail and Extortion Details
The complaint reveals that during an earlier meeting at a hotel, the accused raped her and secretly recorded an obscene video on his phone. He then used this video to blackmail her, continuing to sexually exploit her over several months. The woman told police that approximately Rs 1 lakh was extorted from her on multiple occasions during this period, with the accused repeatedly assuring her of marriage to maintain control.
Police Action and Legal Charges
After the incident, the woman managed to reach the Firozpur Jhirka City police station and file a formal complaint. Authorities have recorded her statement before a magistrate and conducted her medical examination. A case has been registered under multiple charges:

- Provisions of the Haryana Prevention of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Act, 2022
