The Vikas Nagar police in Lucknow have made a significant arrest in a disturbing case involving financial fraud, sexual exploitation, and an attempt to induce miscarriage. The accused, identified as Ankur Agarwal, was taken into custody late on Saturday from outside his residence in Jankipuram's Sector F.

Acting on a specific tip-off, police officers apprehended the 38-year-old suspect who originally hails from Padrauna in Kushinagar district but was currently residing in Jankipuram, Lucknow. The arrest follows a comprehensive investigation that began after the case was officially registered on March 1st.
According to police records, the case was filed under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) along with Section 66E of the Information Technology Act at the Vikas Nagar police station. As the investigation progressed, authorities revised and strengthened the charges based on evidence collected and the victim's detailed statement.
Nature of the Alleged Crimes
Station House Officer Alok Singh of Vikas Nagar police station provided crucial details about the case. The accused allegedly lured the victim with false promises of securing employment for her, using this deception to fraudulently obtain approximately ₹3.8 lakh from her.
The criminal activities reportedly escalated beyond financial fraud. Police state that Agarwal established a relationship with the woman under false pretenses and subsequently subjected her to sexual exploitation against her will.
The situation took an even more serious turn when the victim became pregnant. The accused then allegedly attempted to terminate the pregnancy by secretly mixing an intoxicating substance into her cold drink, hoping to induce a miscarriage without her knowledge or consent.
