Fatehabad Police Arrest Man for Alleged Murder of Live-in Partner
In a shocking incident, Fatehabad police have apprehended a man accused of murdering his live-in partner and discarding her body in a canal. The accused, identified as Iqbal Singh, a resident of Employees Colony in Ratia, was arrested following a detailed investigation into the suspicious death of Rekha (35), a resident of Panihari village in Sirsa district.
Complaint and Initial Claims
According to Inspector Pushpa, the Station House Officer at Ratia City police station, a murder case was officially registered on March 21. This action was based on a complaint filed by Jagannath, the father of the deceased. In his statement, Jagannath revealed that his daughter had been in a live-in relationship with Iqbal Singh for the past four years.
Initially, on March 15, Iqbal Singh informed the family that Rekha had died after accidentally falling into a canal. He later identified the body, which seemed to support his account. However, the family's suspicions were aroused when they noticed an injury mark on Rekha's forehead, prompting them to question the circumstances surrounding her death.
Investigation and Allegations
Following a thorough inquiry, Jagannath alleged that Iqbal Singh had murdered his daughter on the night of March 13.
