Chandigarh: In a late-night incident on Tuesday, occupants of a white SUV allegedly assaulted a man and snatched ₹11,000 from him near the Sector 47 Sampark Centre. The Sector 31 police station has registered a case following the incident.
Details of the Incident
The victim, Udhir Kumar, a resident of Maloya, works at the Sector 47 Sampark Centre. He was walking near his workplace when the SUV forcibly intercepted him. The attackers assaulted him, grabbed the cash, and fled the scene. Kumar immediately called the police, and a team rushed to the spot.
Investigation Underway
During the initial investigation, Kumar managed to provide the police with the registration number of the getaway vehicle. Preliminary database checks revealed that the SUV is registered under the name of a resident living in Sector 34. The police are cross-referencing this ownership data with local CCTV footage to verify the facts and identify the attackers.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. The investigation is ongoing, and further updates are expected as more evidence is gathered.
