Man Axes Wife, 8-Year-Old Daughter to Death in Dharashiv Domestic Violence Horror
A horrific incident of domestic violence has shaken Beradwadi village in Dharashiv district, where a 30-year-old man allegedly murdered his wife and eight-year-old daughter with an axe following a heated domestic dispute. The police have registered an FIR and arrested the accused after he surrendered and confessed to the brutal crime.
Details of the Gruesome Attack
The accused, identified as Ajit Vasudev, allegedly attacked his wife, Limbabai (24), and daughter, Mansi, late on Monday night within the jurisdiction of the Murum police station. According to police reports, both victims died on the spot due to multiple axe blows inflicted during the violent assault.
Assistant inspector Sandip Dahiphale provided crucial insights into the case, stating, "The preliminary probe has revealed that Vasudev suspected his wife's character and frequently assaulted her. However, the exact trigger behind this act is still being ascertained. The police are investigating the case from multiple angles, including prolonged domestic discord and suspicion."
Escalation of Domestic Conflict
According to police investigations, a heated argument broke out between Ajit and Limbabai on Monday, which rapidly escalated into extreme violence. In a fit of rage, Vasudev allegedly picked up an axe from the house and repeatedly attacked both his wife and daughter with the deadly weapon.
At the time of the horrific incident, the couple's four-year-old son was present inside the house. Terrified by the violence and the sight of blood, the young child managed to run out of the house, miraculously escaping physical harm. The accused had two daughters and a son; the elder daughter was staying at her maternal grandparents' home at the time and thus survived the tragedy.
Surrender and Police Investigation
The accused walked into the police station around 2am on Tuesday and confessed to the double murder. Acting on his statement, the police immediately visited the crime scene and carried out a detailed panchnama (scene of crime report). The bodies were later sent to a government hospital in Murum for postmortem examination to determine the exact cause and nature of injuries.
Superintendent of police Ritu Khokher Kalyan and sub-divisional officer Sadashiv Shelar personally visited the scene of the crime and reviewed the ongoing investigation. Their presence underscores the seriousness with which authorities are treating this case of extreme domestic violence that resulted in the tragic loss of two innocent lives.
