Vijayawada: A family dispute turned tragic in Krishna district after a 47-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by his son-in-law at Kolavennu village under Kankipadu police station limits on Sunday.
Incident Details
According to Kankipadu police, the deceased was identified as Tiruveedhi Nagaraju, a resident of Allapuram village in Gannavaram mandal. Nagaraju had married his daughter to Avinash, son of Lam Ramesh of Kolavennu village, about three years ago. Nagaraju’s daughter is reportedly pregnant.
Police said Nagaraju visited Kolavennu on Saturday night and took his daughter to a hospital for a medical check-up. After returning home, an argument allegedly broke out between Nagaraju and his son-in-law, Avinash.
Attack and Death
During the altercation, Avinash allegedly attacked Nagaraju with a wooden stool, striking him on the head. Nagaraju sustained severe injuries and died shortly thereafter.
Based on a complaint lodged by the deceased’s family members, Kankipadu police registered a case and launched an investigation.
