Kasaragod Tragedy: Man Found Dead After Alleged Iron Rod Attack on Wife
A shocking incident unfolded in Kanhangad, Kasaragod, on Thursday, resulting in the death of a 60-year-old man and critical injuries to his wife. The man, identified as Ibrahim from Kadappuram, was found dead hours after allegedly attacking his wife with an iron rod at their residence.

According to preliminary reports, the victim's wife, Mariyam (55), sustained severe injuries to her head and neck during the alleged assault. She was immediately rushed to a hospital in Mangaluru, where her condition remains critical. Neighbors reported hearing cries from the house around 5 am, prompting them to intervene and discover Mariyam lying in a pool of blood.
Discovery of the Deceased and Police Response
After alerting the authorities and arranging medical assistance for Mariyam, locals searched for Ibrahim, who was missing from the house. He was later found hanging from a mango tree near the residence. The Hosdurg police have registered two cases in connection with the incident and are investigating the circumstances. The body of Ibrahim has been shifted for an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
