A 31-year-old man allegedly died by suicide after hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his residence in Dhanas late Tuesday night. The Sarangpur police station has initiated inquest proceedings to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
The police received a distress call regarding the incident at around 10.30 pm. Upon arriving at the crime scene, a police team found that the victim's brother had already brought him down from the ceiling. Officers rushed the man to the GMSH-16, where doctors declared him dead.
The body has been kept in the hospital mortuary for an autopsy. Officials said his kin disclosed that he was a drug addict. No suicide note was found at the scene.
The cause of death will be established once the autopsy report is released.
Authorities are investigating the matter and have recorded statements from family members. The deceased's identity has been withheld pending family notification. Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
