Man Dies by Suicide in Chandigarh's Dhanas Area

A 31-year-old man allegedly died by suicide after hanging himself from a ceiling fan at his residence in Dhanas late Tuesday night. The Sarangpur police station has initiated inquest proceedings to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.

The police received a distress call regarding the incident at around 10.30 pm. Upon arriving at the crime scene, a police team found that the victim's brother had already brought him down from the ceiling. Officers rushed the man to the GMSH-16, where doctors declared him dead.

The body has been kept in the hospital mortuary for an autopsy. Officials said his kin disclosed that he was a drug addict. No suicide note was found at the scene.
